Ø      Standard of Conduct and Expectations

-Working as a team to achieve team goals is a priority.

-Team goals can sometimes outweigh individual goals.

-Members will be required to study and compete in at least 3 events.

-Members will submit monthly progress reports on their chosen events.

-We encourage team members to wear the team t-shirts at all meetings. Similar dress is strongly advised until the t-shirts are available.  Team T-shirts are a requirement for all competitions.

-Inappropriate language will not be tolerated.  What may seem OK in your social groups may not be OK and may be offensive to others during team meetings. Consideration for others is a top priority.

- Team members and parents, guardians and others associated with the Science Olympiad Team who choose to act inappropriately or are inconsiderate to the coaching staff, parents or other team members will no longer be eligible to participate on the team.  If the behavior involves an adult, the child associated with that adult will also be removed from the team.

-Refer to Mission Statement page for further team guidelines and standards.

Ø      Coaching

Science Olympiad covers a wide range of topics and the coaches/coordinators of this team do not have the expertise in all of them.  Since we are a team consisting of Home school Families, parents, friends, acquaintances, and personal contacts are the coaches for each event.  Team coaches/coordinators are available for guidance and will share their individual expertise in the events they know best.  We will assist you in getting the information you need but self initiative and self study are essential.  Please refer to the Science Olympiad Website frequently for event guidelines and suggestions.
